Us, Today - COMPUTANT (2018)

“Some tracks wander into jazz-funk territory. Some sound like indie rock. Brewed together, those sounds, the inventive nature of the trio and a tasty application of the vibraphone make Us, Today a band on the rise that can be savored right now.”
-NPR, All Things Considered
"Us, Today's virtuosity and vigorous arrangements warrant a much larger audience, preferably as quickly as possible."
-Jim Fusilli, The Wall Street Journal
“Computant is a treat, with effected vibraphones vying with mathy drum grooves, cruncy guitar motifs and electronic elements. It’s incredibly listenable with, ahem, good vibes.” -Grant Moon, PROG Magazine (UK)
“On new album Computant, Us, Today pushes things ever further, adding synths and electronic-drum elements to its sophisticated sonic stew. Perhaps most impressive is that the trio recorded the entire record over the course of one weekend, with most of the tracks only needing three or four takes.” - Magnet
“A wild post-rock adventure, powered by complex percussion, jagged guitar lines, and bright vibraphone.” - Bandcamp (New & Notable)
‘Computant’ can best be described as a buffet of sound; each track holding a distinct energy and vibe that’ll take the listener on a highly enjoyable audio voyage."

Marjorie Lee and The Lovers - Ohio (2018)

The album was written by Marjorie Lee and features songs about people, places, and life experiences; some good, and some incredibly painful, but necessary. Marjorie is a lifelong Ohio resident, and many themes of this album are her way of making peace with existing in a political climate that is not always safe or welcoming for QPOC, a strong juxtaposition with the lush green landscape and gentle rolling hills that make Ohio so warm and inviting. Marjorie grew up in Oxford, Ohio with the band’s drummer/percussionist Kristin Agee. The band’s bassist, and Kristin’s husband Jon Lattier, is also a lifelong Ohio resident, having lived his entire life in and around Cincinnati, Ohio. The song “Ohio” attempts to capture the push and pull of claiming space in a hostile social environment while retreating into Ohio’s natural beauty for healing and inspiration. “Smile” was written for Marjorie’s late mother, just before she lost her battle with cancer. The band performed this song for Marjorie’s mother just before she passed, a memory they will always cherish. Not all of the songs are about struggle and loss; both Marjorie and her husband Dustin are alumni of Public Allies, an Americorps program. The song “Good People” is about having an amazing, life changing experience with a group of incredibly talented and dedicated people who are passionate about social justice and community.
"Based around Marjorie Lee’s songwriting and superb voice, Ohio is an endearing listen, brimming with Folk-tinged Pop Rock that has an alluring warmth and depth, sometimes bringing to mind a mix of ’90s AltRock bands like Belly with the more Pop-minded work of songwriters like Shawn Colvin or Suzanne Vega. As with those artists, the full-band approach lifts Lee’s songs out of “coffeehouse singer/songwriter” territory. Bassist Jon Lattier and drummer Kristin Agee are virtuosic on their instruments and give Lee’s already strong songs an extra dynamic. According to the bio accompanying Ohio, a thematic thread of the album is the internal struggle that comes from living somewhere you love but don’t always feel welcome. That’s exemplified most clearly on the title track, which opens softly and plaintively before bursting into a rockier, more defiant march. (MB)"

Peat Rains: "...we were both floored hearing Us, Today out of Ohio. It’s a 3-piece with vibraphones, guitar and drums. It’s scary complex and proggy but also super groovy and accessible. It was just f*ing flawless and I totally didn’t want to play after them. We loved the sound so much that we asked their bell player Kristin Agee to lend her talents to our new album. We’re stoked to have her flair on some of our songs." From an interview in penseyeview.com you can read here.

"The band is based around the singing and songwriting talents of frontperson Marjorie Bledsoe, who crafts lovely, heartfelt Pop/Rock songs full of honesty and introspection.
